We weren’t sure what to call this page, but it’s about how a Club and a show is run. Other clubs, committees, and Societies are run to more or less the same procedure, right up to the House of Commons (but we don’t have anywhere to hang our swords.)

If you are a member you have the right to attend an AGM and vote your for your committee members (or MP’s or whatever).

The committee elect the Chairman, Vice Chairman and the other Club officers, (Secretary, Treasurer, & Delegate) so the committee are responsible to the membership and the Chairman etc. to the committee. (You thought the Chairman was the boss)

So where are these discussions and votes originate?  With you the membership.  Having been voted on to the committee, committee members must raise at committee any topic that a member asks them to, weather they agree with it or not. They may also raise any subject, even from a nonmember if it affects the Club.  Following discussion a decision is reached and this becomes the policy of the club and is binding as a decision on the members of the committee weather they agree with it or not (yes folks, that’s the way democracy works.)

The Committee also chose a Show Manager, be it by election (from within the committee or by appointment from outside the club)
